Lisa S. Conn
A lifelong communicator, Lisa comes from a long line of empowered women with a passion for the arts. “My grandmother was an educator and penmanship instructor by trade. When she retired from a career in education, she founded and operated a very successful China-painting business,” Lisa said. “I always admired the intricate, beautiful work she could do with a simple paintbrush. Like my grandmother, my mother was also artistically gifted. She was a talented seamstress who made beautifully detailed silk jackets and coats. Growing up, I never saw myself as an artistic person…until I realized that communication is my art.”
Over the course of her career, Lisa has worked with countless organizations and individual clients to strengthen their communication skills. Lisa formerly served as Marketing Director for Wesley Medical Center, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at The University of Southern Mississippi, Communications Director for the Office of the Governor of the State of Mississippi, Public Relations Coordinator for the City of Hattiesburg, and was Marketing Officer for Trustmark National Bank in Hattiesburg.
Lisa received her B. S. Degree in Speech Communications with an emphasis in Organizational Communications and a minor in Public Relations from The University of Southern Mississippi, and is a graduate of Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi Program. She has been recognized as one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women and Mississippi’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Mississippi Business Journal.
For Lisa, Quill is a consulting service that celebrates the art of communication. “Through Quill, I am able to apply my years of experience to help organizations and individuals take control of the way they communicate,” Lisa said. “From public relations to job materials to interview preparation, my hope is to use my gifts and expertise to sharpen the message of every client I have the privilege of serving.”
